My friend Margaret came round for coffee a couple of weeks ago. We exchanged bits of news about our foster families, and I was keen to hear how she and Tom were getting on with their twins, Amy and George.
When you foster a child, there are some situations, occasions, which go straight to your heart and wring it out, mercilessly. Mother’s Day is one of these, even though I’m only part of the extended foster family.

If you are a foster carer you’re probably part of a wider foster family. That’s certainly the case in my family with several generations of us all in regular contact with the children fostered by my son and his partner Katy.
